Accomplishments and Expertise Overview
Administration, Planning, and Training:
·
All administrative duties associated with running a small
or medium sized business.
·
Assisted in the planning, layout, and setup of a fifteen
station, public access computer lab.
·
Created a custom, integrated IT solution allowing
residential access to the central system and national database, allowing the
clients to participate in a nationwide, Internet based Radiology network.
Additional support included tutorials on web authoring, Internet searches,
remote data transfer, and World Wide Web access.
·
Developed and supported customized annual service
agreements to provide regular system check-ups & maintenance, as well as
general break/fix services, for my business clients. Streamlined data
sharing and back-up for these clients. Utilized remote access, where
practical.
·
Responsible for, among other things, employee scheduling,
collection and compilation of usage statistics, project management, and fee
collection.
·
Training of new coworkers and/or subordinates, in the
areas of user support and system maintenance, while employed in various
positions.
Business Development:
·
Created a growing independent consulting and service
business, specializing in meeting the computing needs of individuals and
small businesses through the implementation of PC and Network solutions.
This business grew out of what began as occasional side work, helping
friends and family with their computer problems.
·
Promoted a residential Internet access package,
coordinated & subcontracted through a local ISP. This resulted in a
long-term business relationship, which was
eventually acquired by a larger ISP.
Contract Negotiation:
·
Pediatric Radiology Department of Children’s Hospital of
Alabama. Contract included the design, setup, and implementation of
multiple PCs for the individual doctors, as well as Internet service.
·
Service and maintenance contracts for home office and
business clients.
·
Trillion Digital Communications to provide network
specialist services (see below for details).
·
Go2IT Group contracts for me to perform various small
jobs and also longer term projects.
Documentation and Writing Skills:
·
Over the years, my various positions have necessitated
that I develop certain technical writing skills, in order to translate
technical terminology and “jargon” into language that non-technical clients,
end-users, and managers can understand.
·
Such documentation includes, but is not limited to:
explanations of policies and procedures, inventory summaries, network
configuration details, project status reports, service contracts, system
specifications summaries, tutorials, and usage reports.
·
Creation of PowerPoint presentations, slide shows,
interactive CD’s for the installation of software, and various other tasks.
