“Travel” Adjustment

Due to soaring fuel costs and to account for driving time in the generally heavy traffic typical along the coast, we may be forced to charge a nominal “travel” adjustment on some occasions. Rather than penalizing some clients unfairly by raising the rate for everyone, we will only consider charging this adjustment under the following conditions.

If you are located within 25 miles of the PC Onsite office, and the driving time is no more than 45 minutes, there will be no adjustment.
Should any client be located more than 25 miles from the PC Onsite office, there may be a $5.00 fee for the first 10 mile increment, or portion thereof, over 25 miles distance between the PC Onsite office and the client’s location. Each additional 5 mile increment, or portion thereof, may entail a $3.00 fee. This fee only applies to the one-way distance between the client and PC Onsite. It is not charged for both directions.
Regardless of distance, should traffic conditions be such that the driving time, at reasonable, legal speeds, exceeds 45 minutes, there may be a $5.00 fee for the first 10 minute increment, or portion thereof, over 45 minutes time between the PC Onsite office and the client’s location. Each additional 5 minute increment, or portion thereof, may entail a $3.00 fee. As above, this is only for the one-way driving time and is not charged for the return trip.
These are “either/or” charges. You will be charged the higher of the two, but not both.
Insofar as we are able, we will try to schedule on-site calls so as to avoid the times of heaviest traffic.
We use mapping websites (MapQuest, Google Maps, etc.), in order to determine the most direct route.
If we are “in the area” (on another service call, for example), there will likely be no adjustment. We attempt, as best as we can, to arrange on-site calls in a circuit, so that we can move from one to the next, without having to charge the travel adjustment to any client.
These fees are intended for single incident service calls, and are generally waived for Service Contract clients.
