Hourly Rates and Availability

In the interest of clarity, we have specified our hours of availability, general billing policies, all fee schedules and, where appropriate, the criteria for them. PC Onsite tries as best as possible to stay within the regular rates and minimize client cost.

We had not raised rates for several years. However, effective November 1st, 2009, in recognition of changing economic conditions, and as a show of solidarity with our clients and community, we lowered our on-site rate (previously $100/hr) and lowered the differential for our other rates: off-site, 80% to 75%; after-hours & overtime, 150% to 125%; emergency, 200% to 150%. This is likely a move few companies consider, but we felt it was the right thing to do. We are keeping these rates in place.

J The minimum charge is usually one hour at the standard on-site rate ($80.00), for any service provided. However, every new client gets a free diagnosis.

J The standard hourly rates are $80.00/hour for on-site service and $60.00/hour (75% of the on-site rate) for any off-site work.

J Certain tasks and services may be eligible for a “flat fee” charge. We will gladly discuss this with you. Click here for standard items.

J On-site work is billed from arrival to departure time.

J Off-site work is only billed for “hands-on, live” time; "dead" time is not charged. (“Dead” time is when the computer is doing something: transferring data, installing software, downloading & installing updates, defragmenting the hard drive, scanning for viruses & spy-ware, etc.)

J All charged time and is rounded up to the next 5 minute increment.

J The standard hours of availability for on-site calls are 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

J Saturday hours are by appointment only.

J We are closed on Sundays and major holidays, but can be available for emergency service.

J The after-hours/overtime rate is 1.25 times the applicable standard rate, for services provided outside the standard hours on Monday through Friday.

J Saturday appointments are usually at the regular rate but may be charged at the after-hours rate, under certain circumstances (time of day, amount of notice, and such).

J The “emergency” rate is 1.5 times the applicable standard rate. This rate is for “please drop everything and come ASAP” type of calls.

J Sundays and holidays are billed at the “emergency” rate.

J Given sufficient notice, we can usually work with your schedule and stay within the standard rates.

J Service Contract clients receive a discount off the standard rates.

J The after-hours, overtime, and “emergency” adjustments are intended for single incident service calls, and are generally waived for Service Contract clients.

J Rates are for labor only and do not include parts, software, supplies, etc. Should such items be needed, we will give the client the option of procuring such items directly (for a nominal consultation fee, if appropriate), or having PC Onsite procure such items (with a nominal mark-up to cover research, handling, delivery, etc.). We feel that this is fair to all concerned and provides options for the client.

J Any parts, software, supplies, or any other goods to be purchased by PC Onsite for the client will require a deposit, prior to said items being ordered.

J A "good faith" deposit, negotiable on a per job basis, is required prior to commencement of any off-site work.

J Payment becomes due at the time services are rendered. Invoices are due and payable upon receipt.

J Please note, should any single on-site call require more than 8 hours, the excess time may be billed at the overtime rate. Our policy, if it is practical to do so, is to offer the client the option of having the system removed to the PC Onsite workshop for off-site work, should the problem not be solved within a reasonable amount of on-site time.

J Also note that clients located more than 25 miles and/or 45 minutes from the PC Onsite office may be subject to a “travel” adjustment. Click here for further details.
